Issue No. 1Tuesday 6 October 2026
Hello, Hervey Bay.
This week brings two deadlines worth putting on the fridge, because dog registration renewals and Australia Day event grants both close at the end of October. If you are planning a spring garden, Council has free seeds on offer, and when the weekend arrives there is a Friday night out on the Seafront Oval, a new exhibition at the gallery and live music by the beach.
Enjoy the read, and if a friend would like it too, please pass it on.

Check the flood map before you bid

For most Queensland general tenancies, rent increases must be at least 12 months apart for the property. During an existing tenancy, at least two months’ written notice is generally required, and a fixed-term lease must allow the increase.
|
|
Before you bid or make an offer, check the home’s flood and storm-tide information in Council’s planning maps. These give you a starting point for understanding the risk; ask Council about a property flood search for more detail.
